American women are rightly obsessed with how their eyebrows look, and I wanted to find out where this love of eyebrow beauty is most intense.
As founder of Go Permanent, I thought the best way to answer this question is to look into the data. So I analyzed Yelp listings in the twenty most populous cities in America, to answer the question: which city loves their eyebrows the most?

It turns out Angelinos are most concerned with eyebrow beauty, with 4.6 salons offering microblading for every 10,000 people in the city. This makes sense with LA being the center of movies and television, with people wanting to look their best. In comparison, New York, with more than double the population of LA, has less than 1 salon offering microblading per 10,000 people!
Right behind Los Angeles is Seattle, with 4.5 salons offering microblading per 10k people. It seems the West Coast is the place to be if you want a wide selection of microblading salons! Seattleites have 335 salons to choose from, and while this is much less than LA’s 1,800 salons, Seattle is more than five times smaller so has a similar amount of eyebrow love to LA.
Methodology
I counted the number of Yelp listings in Yelp’s microblading category in each of the top twenty most populous cities in America. Salons appear in this category when they list microblading as a service, or if someone mentions microblading in their review of the salon.
